Meanings

have/get something done

We use this structure when we arrange for someone (usually a professional) to do a service for us. The focus is on the result, not the person who does the action.

I had my watch fixed.

(Meaning: I didn’t fix the watch myself; I paid a watchmaker to do it.)

We are getting a new kitchen installed.

(Meaning: We are paying builders to install it.)

Get is slightly more informal than have.
