Harry

Hello, my name is Harry. My journey as an English teacher began over 10 years ago working in language schools in Vietnam. Since then, I’ve moved into online teaching, first through agencies and online schools, and now primarily as an independent teacher focusing on one-on-one classes with adults.

Across all those years and different teaching styles, one constant has always been the sheer amount of time it takes to create fresh, relevant materials for my students.

This website started with a simple idea. My students were always asking for extra grammar homework, so I decided to create a place to host exercises for them. I called it english-grammar-homework.com.

But as I worked on it, I realised that the biggest challenge wasn’t just sharing resources, but the time it took to create them in the first place. Finding a good news article or video is one thing, but turning it into a proper lesson with questions and activities is another job entirely. (I am sure many of you have had the same experience!)

That led me down a new path. I started experimenting with AI to see if it could help speed up that process. The site has since evolved into a tool that helps me do things like turn a YouTube video into a listening exercise or a news article into a reading comprehension task, in less than a minute! It has been a huge help to me and my students, and my hope is that it can be for you, too.

My main priority for students has always been simplicity, so they’ll never need to create an account to do an exercise. My original hope was to keep the resource creation completely free for teachers as well, with no ads. However, the reality is that the costs associated with running the AI tools and hosting the website make that not feasible.

Like you, I personally hate websites that bombard you with intrusive ads, so I want to be clear about my commitment: while free exercises may contain an ad, I will always ensure they are as minimal and unobtrusive as possible. For those who prefer an ad-free experience, I’ve worked hard to keep my costs down so that purchasing exercise credits can be cheap and accessible to all teachers.

This is still very much a work in progress, but I hope you find it useful!
